The Tajikistan e-Visa is accepted at all border points. Match your flight or land route to a working checkpoint — starting with Dushanbe International Airport (DYU).
Where can you enter with an e-Visa?
Holders may enter through all border points of the Republic of Tajikistan. This page lists the international airports and land crossings so you can match tickets to a working checkpoint before travel. Dushanbe International Airport (DYU) is the main air gateway to the capital.
Nationality rules, document checklists, fees and how to apply are on the visa pages — they are not repeated here. Confirm your passport on the eligible countries list or the visa-exempt list before you book.
Tajikistan’s main air gateway, about 5 km from the city centre. Codes are IATA DYU and ICAO UTDD. An approved e-Visa is accepted for entry and exit. Read the airport guide for terminals, taxis, facilities and arriving or departing — not for visa fees or application steps.

Planning your connecting route
After you clear immigration, match the next leg to the visa you hold. A Dushanbe-only trip does not need a GBAO permit. A Pamir Highway itinerary does. Mountain road connections can take several hours; Dushanbe–Khujand and Pamir Highway legs are long drives.
Match the ticket to your route — fly into DYU, LBD or TJU, or plan overland entry through Oybek, Jartepa, Kyzyl-Art or Panji Poyon.
Add the GBAO permit if needed — Ishkashim, Khorog and Kyzyl-Art all enter Gorno-Badakhshan, so request the permit with your e-Visa application.
Avoid restricted crossings — do not plan an e-Visa arrival at the Kulma Pass while passenger movement stays restricted.
Carry printed documents — e-Visa approval, the same passport used in the application, and the GBAO permit where applicable.
Which checkpoints accept the e-Visa, which airport to use for Dushanbe, and which land borders need a GBAO permit.
Which Tajikistan border points accept e-Visa entry?
The Tajikistan e-Visa is accepted at all border points of the Republic of Tajikistan. The main gateways are Dushanbe International Airport (DYU), Khujand Airport (LBD), Kulob Airport (TJU), Bokhtar Airport, and the major land crossings with Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan listed on this page. Always confirm the checkpoint is operating before travel.
What is the best airport for Dushanbe with a Tajikistan e-Visa?
Use Dushanbe International Airport (DYU). It is the main air gateway of Tajikistan, about 5 km from the city centre, accepts the e-Visa for both entry and exit, and connects by taxi in about 15 to 25 minutes.
Do I need a GBAO permit at certain border points?
Yes. Crossings into the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region — including Ishkashim, Khorog and the Kyzyl-Art pass on the Pamir Highway — require a separate GBAO permit. Request it together with your e-Visa before you travel. Dushanbe city and DYU sit outside GBAO.
Which land border should I use from Uzbekistan?
Oybek is the main Tashkent–Tajikistan crossing, and Jartepa–Penjikent is the main Samarkand crossing into the Zerafshan valley. Patar serves the Fergana Valley route toward Kanibadam and Khujand. All accept the Tajikistan e-Visa.
Can I enter Tajikistan from China with an e-Visa?
The Kulma Pass is open mainly to freight and passenger movement is restricted, so most travelers should not plan an e-Visa arrival there. Enter by air or through the land borders with Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan or Afghanistan instead.
What should a passport holder bring to the border point?
Present the same passport used in the application, a printed e-Visa approval, and the GBAO permit if your route enters Gorno-Badakhshan. Immigration officers decide final admission. Full document rules are on the requirements page.
