Business visit
The business e-Visa is for meetings, conferences, negotiations, and other short commercial travel in Tajikistan. The stay is up to 60 days. You can apply only while you are outside Tajikistan. A single-entry or multiple-entry visa can be requested. It does not authorize employment.
This website is a private application-assistance service. It is not the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and it is not endorsed by the Government of Tajikistan.
What the business e-Visa is
It is the business category of the Tajikistan e-Visa, an official document that permits entry and travel in Tajikistan. You complete one form per traveler, pay the consular fee by card, and receive the approved visa by email, with a link to download it.
Use it for meetings, conferences, negotiations, and other short commercial travel. It is an alternative to a business visa issued by a Tajik mission or at a port of entry. Sightseeing and family visits use the tourist visa.
Who can apply
Eligibility depends on nationality. Some nationalities have extra requirements, which are shown after you choose your nationality and travel dates.
You can use the business form when:
- You are outside Tajikistan when you apply.
- Your nationality is eligible for the e-Visa.
- The visit is meetings, a conference, negotiations, or other short commercial travel.
- The stay is not more than 60 days.
- Each traveler has their own passport.
Employment, a posting, or a stay longer than 60 days needs a visa from a Tajik mission. The business e-Visa does not by itself authorize employment.
Validity and stay
The business e-Visa has a validity window for entry, and a separate limit on how long you may remain in Tajikistan.
| Aspect | Details |
|---|---|
| Validity | Valid for 90 days. Enter within that period, on any date inside the validity window. |
| Stay | Up to 60 days. Leave before the stay and the visa expire. |
| Earlier entry | Entry earlier than the date printed on the visa needs a new application. |
| Entry type | Single entry or multiple entry. |
| Purpose | Business. The visa does not authorize employment. |
Overstaying can lead to a fine, deportation, or a ban on future travel to Tajikistan. Check the dates printed on the approval before you travel.
Requirements
Details on the form must match the passport exactly. Approved name, passport number, and dates stay fixed.
- Passport validity — Valid for at least six months after the visa you request, and for at least six months from the date you intend to enter.
- Blank pages — At least two blank pages.
- Purpose — Business, for a stay of up to 60 days.
- Location — You are outside Tajikistan when you apply.
- One traveler per form — Each person applies on their own passport.
At the border
- The same passport named on the e-Visa.
- A digital or printed copy of the approval.
- A GBAO permit if you will enter that region, used on the date shown.
Documents
Prepare these before you start the business application.
What to upload
- Passport scan — A clear copy of the biodata page, with the machine-readable zone fully visible.
- Portrait photo — A recent photo that meets the photo rules.
- Travel dates — Intended arrival and departure, and the border point you plan to use.
- Proof of the trip — An invitation, tickets, or accommodation may be requested for a business visit.
- Email — The address that will receive the download link.
- Card — Visa, Mastercard, or American Express.
Some nationalities are asked for more documents after the nationality and dates are chosen. A trip into Gorno-Badakhshan also needs the separate permit.
When to apply
Apply about two weeks ahead, while you are still outside Tajikistan. Additional requirements can depend on nationality and travel dates, so a last-minute request leaves little time to correct a passport detail or add an invitation.
- Submit one business application for each traveler.
- Use the passport you will carry to the border.
- Allow time for a GBAO permit if the route enters the Pamirs.
- Read the approval as soon as it arrives. If it does not match the passport, do not travel on it.
The procedure page sets out the same steps in order.
Fees
You pay a consular fee by card. A separate permit fee is added when the business trip includes GBAO. This website also charges an assistance fee. The total is shown before you pay, and it is charged per traveler.
- Single entry — Tajik missions publish the consular fee as USD 30.
- Multiple entry — Tajik missions publish the consular fee as USD 50.
- GBAO permit — USD 20, added only when that region is included.
Payments are not refunded for a denied, cancelled, or unused e-Visa, or for an unused GBAO permit.
How to apply
Have the passport, a portrait photo, and a card ready. Complete the business form from outside Tajikistan.
1) Choose business
Select the business visa and your nationality. Use one form for each traveler.
2) Enter the trip
Give the intended arrival and departure dates and the border point. Choose single or multiple entry. Add a GBAO permit when the route enters Gorno-Badakhshan.
3) Match the passport
Enter the name, date of birth, and passport number exactly as printed. Upload a clear biodata-page scan, a portrait photo, and any invitation or travel proof the form requests.
4) Review and pay
Check every field against the passport, then pay by Visa, Mastercard, or American Express. You receive a reference number for the application.
5) Collect the approval
After approval, the business e-Visa is emailed with a link to download it. Carry that file, or a printed copy, with the same passport.
At the border
Carry the same passport named on the business e-Visa, and a digital or printed copy of the approval. The passport details must match the visa exactly.
- Enter on a date inside the validity period, and on or after the date printed on the visa.
- E-Visa holders may enter through all border points.
- Dushanbe International Airport and Khujand International Airport accept the e-Visa.
- Carry the GBAO permit if you will enter that region, and use it on the date shown.
- Leave before the stay and the visa expire.
An approval is checked again at the border. Keep a copy on your phone or on paper in case the border system is unavailable.
Single and multiple entry
A business visit can be requested as single entry or multiple entry. Choose the one that matches the trip before you pay. Approved dates and the entry type stay fixed.
- Single entry — One entry during the 90-day validity. The consular fee published by Tajik missions is USD 30.
- Multiple entry — More than one entry during the validity window. The published consular fee is USD 50. Each stay still cannot exceed 60 days, and you must leave before the visa expires.
Leaving Tajikistan on a single-entry visa uses that entry. A later return needs a new application.
Employment
The business e-Visa covers a short commercial visit. It does not authorize employment, a posting, or paid work in Tajikistan.
- Meetings, conferences, and negotiations fit this visa.
- Taking up work needs a visa from a Tajik mission.
- A stay longer than 60 days is a different visa, not an extension of this e-Visa.
A longer stay
The business e-Visa does not allow a stay longer than 60 days, and it cannot be changed after approval. Leave before the visa expires.
- A different entry date needs a new application.
- A visit longer than 60 days, employment, or a purpose other than business needs a visa from a Tajik mission.
- Overstaying can lead to a fine, deportation, or a ban on future travel to Tajikistan.
GBAO permit
A business trip into the Pamirs needs more than the business e-Visa. GBAO, the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, requires a separate single-entry permit. The districts include Khorog, Darvoz, Vanj, Rushon, Ishkoshim, and Murghob.
- Request the permit with the business e-Visa.
- Enter that region on the date shown on the permit.
- Tajik missions publish the permit fee as USD 20.
Travel to GBAO without the permit is a reason an application fails at the border. See the GBAO zone map for covered areas. The requirements page has the permit notes.
