Tajikistan e-Visa Photo and Passport

Two identity files

Every Tajikistan e-Visa application needs a portrait and a scan of the passport biodata page. They are separate uploads. The passport must stay valid for at least six months after the visa you request and for at least six months from the date you intend to enter, with at least two blank pages.

This website is a private application-assistance service. It is not the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and it is not endorsed by the Government of Tajikistan.

Portrait

Use a recent colour photo of the person named on the form. The examples below compare a file that is hard to read with one that is clear.

Portrait photo examples: common problems and correct versions
Portrait reference. The mark on the left of each pair is a problem. The mark on the right is a clearer file.
  • Clear glasses only, if worn, with both eyes visible
  • Even light, without a heavy shadow across the face
  • Sharp focus, without motion blur
  • No flash burn-out or overexposure
  • A matte finish, without glare on the skin
  • Head and shoulders in frame, on a plain light background

Portrait file rules

These limits are what this application accepts in the portrait field.

  • A straight-on view, with the face centred
  • Even light on both sides of the face

Both lines at the bottom fully visible and readable
Framing
The whole page, upright, with no cropped corners or fingers

Passport rules

The passport in the scan is the passport you carry to the border. A shorter validity, or a different document, makes the e-Visa unusable.

After the visa Valid for at least six months after the visa you request.
From entry Valid for at least six months from the date you intend to enter.
Blank pages At least two blank pages.
Same passport The passport named on the e-Visa is the one presented at the border.
Where you apply You are outside Tajikistan when you submit the form.

Use

  • The full biodata page in one image
  • A straight-on scan or photo, not at an angle
  • Even light, with the machine-readable zone readable
  • Details that match the form exactly
  • One scan for each traveler, including each child

Avoid

  • Cropped edges that hide the number or the expiry date
  • Glare on the laminate, or a blurry image
  • The cover, a visa page, or a stamp page
  • A PDF in the biodata field
  • A passport that fails either six-month rule
  • A scan that does not match the name or number on the form

How to upload

Prepare both files before you open the form. Apply about two weeks ahead, while you are still outside Tajikistan.

  1. Prepare the portrait

Use a recent colour photo on a plain light background. Face the camera, keep both eyes visible, and save JPEG, PNG, or GIF under 3 MB.

  2. Scan the biodata page

Capture the photograph, the personal details, and the machine-readable zone. Save JPEG, PNG, or GIF under 3 MB. Check both validity rules and the two blank pages.

  3. Open the application

Start the form from outside Tajikistan. Choose tourism or business, and enter the name, date of birth, and passport number exactly as printed.

  4. Use the correct field

Put the portrait in the photo field and the biodata page in the passport field. Preview both thumbnails before you continue.

  5. Pay and keep the files

Add any extra document the form asks for after you choose nationality and dates. Review the uploads, then pay. The total is shown before payment.

A blurry scan or an unreadable portrait is a reason an application fails. Approved name, passport number, and dates stay fixed. A refused or invalid application is not corrected in place.

Frequently asked questions

Short answers on the portrait and the passport scan.

What photo do I upload for a Tajikistan e-Visa?

Upload a recent colour portrait of the traveler named on the form. Use a plain light background, face the camera, and keep both eyes visible. The portrait and the passport biodata scan are separate files.

Which file types does the form accept?

The portrait and the passport biodata scan each accept JPEG, PNG, or GIF, under 3 MB. PDF is not accepted for either of those two fields.

Can I upload a PDF of my passport?

No. The biodata-page field accepts JPEG, PNG, or GIF only, under 3 MB. Save or photograph the page as an image, with the machine-readable zone fully visible.

How long must my passport be valid?

The passport should remain valid for at least six months after the visa you request, and for at least six months from the date you intend to enter. It needs at least two blank pages. Use the same passport at the border.

Can I use the photo printed in my passport as the portrait?

No. Upload a separate portrait in the photo field and a scan of the full biodata page in the passport field. Do not put the same file in both slots.

Can I wear glasses in the portrait?

Clear glasses are acceptable when there is no glare and both eyes stay visible. Sunglasses and tinted lenses are not acceptable.

Does each child need a photo and a passport scan?

Yes. Each person, including a child, needs their own passport, their own portrait, their own biodata scan, and their own e-Visa.

What if the scan does not match the form?

Name, date of birth, and passport number must match the passport exactly. Approved details stay fixed. If the visa does not match the passport, it is invalid, and a new application is required.
